Minoxidil Side Effect Warning

Minoxidil Side Effect Warning

Minoxidil has been shown to be mostly free of side-effects. The side-effects are few but the most common are simple contact dermatitis (scalp irritation, dryness, itching, scaling and redness). Rarely, hirsutism has been noted by some women. More serious side-effects are rare, but include headache, visual disturbances, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, change in heart rate, lowered blood pressure, chest pain and swelling of extremities, and fatigue. If any side-effects occur, discontinue use of Minoxidil and contact your doctor right away. Minoxidil is a topical agent and should never be ingested. Women who are pregnant or nursing should not use Minoxidil.
