Thanks to the influence of celebrities and social media’s “hashtag” “#manbunmonday”, Google says that of all queries about the style, “how to grow a man bun” and “how to tie a man bun” are the most common searches. Over 80% of those searches were done on mobile devices in August of 2015, which indicates that men may be showing pictures of man-buns to their stylists so they can get the same look for themselves. Google also says that this is the first year ever that men’s hair searches were higher than women’s hair searches.
The man bun is so popular that there have been countless YouTube tutorials made to explain to how to execute the look and the top five man-bun how-to videos have had 4.1 million views so far.
